Dr. Ng completed undergraduate studies at UCLA in 1999 and thereafter joined Dr. Robert Modlin's lab at UCLA studying the role of Toll-like receptors in the context of intracellular bacterial infections for 3 years before deciding to attend medical school where in addition to an MD degree, she continued with basic science research and earned an MSc in Immunology with a masters thesis on the role of polyparasitism in Wucheria bancrofti infections. After medical school, she completed a Pediatric Residency at Stony Brook University and Pediatric Nephrology Fellowship at Seattle Children's Hospital where basic science research was continued at both, studying EGFR variants in neuroblastoma and B regulatory cells in autoimmunity respectively. Dr. Ng currently studies biomarkers in the context of kidney transplant rejection.
